I am originally from Berkeley, IL a suburb of Chicago - yes I am a Chicago fan. My mother is also from Chicago and my father grew up on a dairy farm in Wisconsin. I was fortunate to be able to attend a Catholic school most of my life. I attended St. Domitilla grade school and then attended Immaculate Heart of Mary High school. I earned my degree in elementary education at St. Norbert College in 2001.
The last 6 years have been very busy for me. In 2011 I married my husband Matt and the following year our first daughter Aibhlin (āv-leen) was born in July. Becoming parents has been the best thing to ever happen to us, life has totally changed for the better. In July of 2014 our second daughter Lorelei joined our family and in February of 2016 we had our first son Liam. This coming school year my oldest daughter will be in Kindergarten and my youngest daughter will be in 3k.
I have always known I wanted to work with children. I began babysitting in middle school and in high school I worked at a daycare. In college I worked as a nanny during the summer. I love watching children learn and grow. I have been teaching 5th grade at St. Mary's school since August of 2001. I have enjoyed teaching in a small school setting where you can get to know every student from the 3k all the way to 6th grade.
In my free time I like to read, though now that mostly consists of nursery rhymes and princess stories. I also love crafting, and of course spending time with my children.
